Mediamediation is a service provided by solicitor, Brian Eagles, to individuals, companies and organisations in the entertainment, media and sports industries for the speedy and economical resolution of disputes.
Mediation is a means by which a totally independent person assists the parties in reaching their own settlement of their differences. The differences are defused rather than made worse; the emphasis is not on a party's rights and interests but on their needs. A negotiated agreement at the end of a mediation process results in a win situation for both sides and the relationship between the parties can be preserved for the future.
Now that the Woolf reforms have become a reality in the Civil Procedure Rules 1998, the use of ADR methods, both prior to and during the course of litigation, has become a necessity if the parties to a dispute are to avoid costs sanctions from the Courts.
Coupled with my experience as a solicitor for many years in all areas of the entertainment and media industries and intellectual property generally, I believe that I am uniquely qualified to assist the parties, who have a dispute in those areas, to reach a resolution by mediation.
